Next week, Radix will attend for the fourth time in the largest Oil & Gas conference in Latin America, Rio Oil & Gas 2018. Featuring “Energy to Transform” as its slogan, the event will discuss through the congress, the exhibition and side events, the perspectives and ways to the future of industry in Brazil and in the world.

The engineering and software multinational - Radix - will host a booth to present two digital experiences with augmented reality and video analytics related to the Oil and Gas Industry. Developed in a partnership with Microsoft, these initiatives aim to increase efficiency and productivity in the industry.

These demonstrations include HoloLens - a holographic computer built into a headset that lets the user see, hear, and interact with holograms within an environment enabling users to virtually dive to inspect platforms. The other digital simulation will use video analytics where photo patterns comparisons are used to detect leaks, the absence of PPE, smoke, fire, industrial hazards, among other events that can compromise safety. The whole operation can be monitored offsite through video, which is one of the many system’s functionalities.

“This is the materialization of futuristic endeavors. By using cutting edge technology, Radix can provide a high level of improvement for solutions in productivity, safety, and efficiency to the energy industry. One of the greatest worldwide oil and gas company is already using our technology,” says João Chachamovits, Radix’s CEO.

Radix will also present two technical sessions at the congress. One of the specialists will present a technical article about the methodology behind a management program to limit the variance in project timelines for Chevron. The second technical session will see the results of a project focused on resizing of internal control valves of the FPSO Frade, which are vital to maintain the controllability of the plant and ensure its production efficiency.

Two other professionals will present their experiences using Lean Six Sigma to increase productivity in platforms. Some of the benefits of integrating this management tool into industry processes range from minimizing waste and process time to decreasing failures.

Despite the Brazilian economic crisis in the past few years, Radix has remained strong in the Oil & Gas industry by expending its business internationally and developing digital solutions for the market. In the United States, the company’s portfolio focuses on the application of digital solutions. Radix uses its expertise in information technology (IT), engineering technology (ET), and operation technology (OT) to increase productivity and reduce clients’ costs.  The company has also a wide range of tech partners such as Microsoft, who will be at the event with Radix.

Alexander Clausbruch, Oil and Gas Radix director says, “We can support the new offshore projects recently announced in the past few months with our relationships with international Oil & Gas companies. We differentiate ourselves by using digital tools, effectively building a digital structure within the projects and their resources, optimizing the process as a whole, and supporting strategies both from IOCs and FPSOs leasing companies. We, not only bring technology into play, but we analyze where and how to best apply it.”

Rio Oil & Gas takes place from September 24th-27th, at Riocentro, West Zone of Rio. Radix’s booth will be located at pavilion number 4. The event is organized every two years by the Brazilian Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Institute (IBP). This year’s edition expects about 41 thousand participants including congressmen, exhibitors and visitors. An increase of 20% of attendees in comparison to 2016.
